Description

Flowers: June-July.  Plant in sun or part shade.  HxS 2mx60cm

A stunning Meadow Rue from Japan, with stout purplish stems rising from aquilegia-like foliage in the spring.  The flowers are held in terminal clusters and are dark red-lilac with prominent yellow anthers.  This is a very architectural plant and does not require support.  Pest and disease resistant and drought tolerant once established.  Easy maintenance – just clear old foliage in spring.  Grows well at the back of a border or as a feature plant.  Please order early in the season as they are so difficult to ship in full growth and we are forced to cut them back from May onwards! Pot size 1.5 litre.

Ready to order now for March/April delivery.

Easy maintenance – just clear old foliage in spring.  Propagate by collecting seed or very carefully divide in early spring.
