Description

Flowers: March-June.  Plant in part shade.  HxS 45x60cm

Brunnera macrophylla ‘Jack Frost’ is Roy Lancaster’s Plant of Chelsea 2003 and still one of our best sellers.  A selection with large, heavily silvered leaves which are kidney-shaped and have green veining and a green rim.  Blue forget-me-not flowers appear in early spring and are held for a long period.  A moisture retentive soil, which is well drained in winter, is preferred.  This plant has produced a number of equally good sports, such as Brunnera macrophylla ‘Looking Glass’.  Don’t be tempted to plant it in full sun as the variegation goes quite a sickly yellow!  Hardiness rating H6. Pot size 9cm.

Care & Maintenance.

Tidy in late autumn.  This is a sterile form so does not set any seed, but it can be carefully divided in spring.
