Description

Flowers: May-October in flushes.  Plant in part shade or woodland.  HxS 45x45cm

A selected form, differing from the species with much paler, almost blue-purple, flowers which are heavily veined. The petals are deeply notched and the glossy, evergreen leaves are usually a lighter green than the species.  Dry shade tolerant, it grows particularly well under beech trees.  You will naturally find paler and darker forms if you allow seedlings of the species to grow to flowering size.  All the hybrids complement each other.  Organically grown in peat free compost.

Care & Maintenance.

This cranesbill is very easy to manage.  Remove old overwintered leaves in spring, tidying up any damaged by winter weather.  Propagate by division in spring.  Pest and disease resistant.
