Description
Flowers: June-September. Plant in part or full shade. HxS 30x60cm
This is a tough, bushy perennial with soft hairy leaves, originally from northern Asia. The flowers are quite large and a dusky purple-magenta with heavy veining and appear throughout the summer. The autumn colour of the leaves is an additional bonus as they go a fiery red. This is very effective for under planting in a shady border or in light woodland. It enjoys a moist fertile soil but is dry shade tolerant once established. Pot size 1.5 litre.
Care & Maintenance.
This cranesbill is very easy to manage. Remove old foliage in spring. Propagate by division in spring or collect and sow seeds. Pest and disease resistant.
