Description
Does not flower. Plant in part or full shade. HxS 90x75cm
This male fern is a very graceful, open fern with the pinnae reduced to ribs which have long terminal crests, giving them an unusual spiky appearance. Dryopteris are generally easy garden ferns with a robust habit. Filix-mas forms wither at the first frosts and are deciduous, although the old foliage does give winter interest. Easy in sheltered conditions in part or full shade. AGM. Hardiness rating H7. Pot size 2 litre.
Care & Maintenance.
Remove old foliage in spring, which is the best time to divide the plant. Wood ferns need very little attention.
