Description
Flowers: July-September. Plant in part or full shade. HxS 1.5mx75cm
This Golden Ray is a very architectural plant with a sturdy, upright habit and the added bonus of flowering in mid-summer. The triangular toothed leaves, of dark green, support blackish stems with erect, slender yellow flower heads held well clear of the foliage. It is an excellent plant by water where it excels. Whilst it can sometimes be prone to slug and snail damage as it emerges in spring it grows away quickly and the problem reduces. We avoid damage in Wales by planting it as an aquatic marginal! AGM. Hardiness rating H5. Pot size 2 litre.
Care & Maintenance.
As mentioned be aware of foliage damage as the plant emerges in spring. Keep the plant in wet or boggy soil as it will flop in dry weather. Propagate by division or seed.
