Flowers: May-June.  Plant in light or part shade.  HxS 1.25mx1m

A rarely offered species from North America, preferring rich moist soil in cool conditions.  It is tolerant of sun provided the soil is very moist.  This Meadow Rue is a very architectural plant, needing no staking.  It produces masses of purple and white flower spikes on tall purple stems held clear of the foliage.  The foliage is a lacy grey-green.  It will form a dense clump given the right conditions.  Easy, pest and disease resistant and ultra hardy.

Care & Maintenance.

This plant requires very little attention.  Simply remove old foliage in spring.  It can be propagated by dividing in spring or collecting and sowing seed.
