Flowers: May-August.  Plant in part shade.  HxS 30x30cm

This Asian poppy is ideal for shady conditions. The bluish foliage emerges in early spring and later turns green.  Foliage is toothed and slightly hairy on both sides of the leaf.  Numerous bright golden poppies are produced above the foliage all summer, following by elongated hairy seed heads.  Excellent in a shady border or underplanting shrubs.  Can easily be distinguished from Stylophorum diphyllum, the north American relative, which has oak-like leaves.

Care and Maintenance.

Remove old foliage in early spring, before growth recommences.  Easily reproduced from seed, which, if sown fresh in autumn, readily germinates.
