Description
Flowers: March-May. Plant in part or full shade. HxS 60x30cm
The heavily mottled leaves emerge in early spring, with their black splashes and splotches. They are quickly followed by large goblet shaped pink flowers which are sessile. In autumn a scarlet fruit is sometimes produced on each flower stem. A very choice plant for rich, moist soil in shade. Chinese Mandrake, its common name, was previously known as Podophyllum hexandrum. Pot size 1.5 litre.
Care & Maintenance.
Plants can be propagated from seed or careful division in late autumn or early spring. The foliage dies down in autumn and can be cleared then. These plants benefit from a spring mulch and a light fertiliser.
