Description
Flowers: May-July. Plant in part or full shade. HxS 30x30cm
In early spring the furled leaves push up through the soil like closed umbrellas and open out as they emerge. The leaves have a green base with multiple brown-red spotted markings, best in spring but continuing into autumn if kept in a shady position. When mature the bright crimson-red flowers are star shaped and hang beneath the leaves, hence the common name of May Apple. Sells on sight at all the plant fairs we attend and now we have enough to offer it online. Grab a bargain! Pot size 9cm.
Care & Maintenance.
Remove old leaves in early spring. Large clumps may be divided in spring or autumn.
