Flowers: June-July.  Plant in part shade.  HxS 75x60cm

This perennial, native to woodland mountains in Honshu, has a rhizomatous root system which makes it a good ground cover for slopes.  The leaves are deeply lobed, olive green and glossy, appearing in early spring.  The flowers themselves are bell-shaped and creamy white to greeny-yellow, borne in clusters above the foliage.  The plant thrives in a rich, moist soil, in shady spots but is also dry shade tolerant once established.  Organically grown in peat free compost.

Care & Maintenance.

Care-free.  Tidy old foliage in early spring, which is the best time to propagate by division.  Sow seeds as fresh as possible in the autumn.
