Flowers: May-August. Plant in part shade or woodland. HxS 50x50cm
This is an unusual Japanese relative of the Valerian family, often found on wooded hillsides in its native habitat. The leaves emerge quite early in spring and are followed by multiple clusters of soft yellow flowers which are held above the foliage. Once flowering, the plant gives off an unusual fragrance, possibly to attract pollinators. The palmate foliage offers good autumn colour, becoming flecked with red in the late summer. A plant that tolerates moist soil and cool positions. It is pest and disease resistant and ultra hardy. Organically grown in peat free compost.
Care & Maintenance.
Clear old foliage in autumn. Seedlings may be found around the plant in early spring, otherwise propagate by division or collect and sow seed.SKU: PATGIB
