Flowers: July-November.  Plant in sun or part shade.  HxS  1mx45cm

This named form is ideal for the smaller garden as it only grows to 1m tall.  It produces dense tussocks of narrow upright leaves and the dense, slender, dark purple plumes are borne on deep purple-black arching stems form midsummer.  The stems turn colour as they age, becoming orange-yellow by late autumn, and look superb in winter frosts.  Organically grown in peat free compost.  Hardiness zone H7.  Pot size 1.5litre.

Care & Maintenance.

Cut old stems down in early spring as new growth emerges.  Cut stems can be composted or used as mulch.  Divide established clumps in spring.
