Description

Flowers: August-September. Plant in part shade.  HxS 75x75cm

An elegant plant with shrub-like erect purple stems topped by palmate, sage coloured leaves, which turn a paler yellow during late summer.  The tulip-like, pale primrose flowers are waxy and borne above and amongst the leaves in late summer.  Good autumn colour to the foliage before it all drops at the first frosts. Best grown in a moist rich soil.  Native to woodlands of Japan and Korea. Easy to grow, very hardy and disease resistant.  Hardiness rating H7.

Care & Maintenance.

Remove old stems in autumn or spring. Divide in spring. Sow seeds in autumn as soon as they are ripe.
