Description
Flowers: April-June. Plant in part shade or woodland. HxS 45x60cm
A German hybird selected and named ‘Orange Queen’ by Ernst Pagels. This lovely variety has evergreen foliage which is flushed red in spring. The orange flowers are much darker than the species, have yellow undersides and are held clear of the foliage. This is an Epimedium which prefers good humus soil but is also dry shade tolerant once established.
Care & Maintenance.
Cut down the overwintering foliage early in the spring, before the new flowers appear, otherwise you will have the new season’s growth coming through the old. Spring is also the best time to divide the plants. Full sun has a tendency to scorch the leaves, so avoid it when planting.
