Description
Flowers: April-June. Plant in part shade or woodland. HxS 45x60cm
This species is easily grown and a great one to start with if you are new to Epimedium. The soft, yellow and white flowers are held above the foliage in early spring. Evergreen, this is a vigorous selection of the original cross and the leaves are beautifully veined in bronze, then in autumn they become veined with deep red. New leaves are produced on colourful red stems. These look particularly attractive when set off by blue-flowered wood anemones, Pulmonaria and Brunnera macrophylla. Pot size 9cm.
Care & Maintenance.
Cut down the overwintering foliage early in the spring, before the new flowers appear, otherwise you will have the new season’s growth coming through the old. Spring is also the best time to divide the plants. Full sun has a tendency to scorch the leaves, so avoid it when planting.
