Flowers: April-May.  Plant in part shade.  HxS 40x60cm

The species from China and Japan is the easiest one to grow and bulks up quickly in the right conditions.  It is a clump-forming perennial with upright stems and loose clusters of small, greenish-white pendant flowers, which appear amongst the foliage.  It is best grown in humus rich soil in part shade, where it thrives.   We have previously labelled this plant as pest and disease resistant, however we find rabbits will nibble.  Time to invest in a cat!  Photograph courtesy of Peter Coxhead.

Care & Maintenance.

A very easy plant to grow, being virtually trouble free.  Propagate by division during dormancy.
