Description
Flowers: July-November. Plant in light or part shade. HxS 45x60cm
This is a lovely plant for lighting up a shady spot. The lance shaped, bright yellow-green leaves are very fresh and eye-catching in spring. They turn greener as the season progresses and are followed in summer and autumn by spikes of dark red flowers over a long period as the foliage gradually takes on reddish autumn tints. Makes low growing mounds of weed suppressing ground cover. A star at RHS Cardiff 2017. Prefers a moist soil. Pot size 1.5 litre.
Care & Maintenance.
Propagate by division in autumn or spring as divisions will root readily. Cut all old foliage to the ground in late winter.
