Description
Flowers: June-July. Plant in light shade. HxS 60x60cm
A compact form of the North American water iris, preferring a partially shaded position and having red-purple flowers in early summer (much more red when seen against Iris versicolor). The falls have a central white flash, veined purple. This iris is suitable for small or shallow ponds and it is attractive to damsel and dragonflies and can also be grown as a waterside or bog plant. Organically grown in peat free compost.
Care & Maintenance.
Remove old foliage in spring and split plants every three or four years to maintain vigour. May be divided after flowering or collect and sow seed. Planting depth in a pond 8cm/3” (top of pot to water surface).
