Description

Flowers: September-March.  Plant in part shade.  HxS 60x60cm

This kaffir lily has cherry-red flowers all autumn and occasionally during mild winters, which are most years here in West Wales.  It is hardy, and enjoys a rich moist soil, also being very tolerant of north facing situations, where it remains semi-evergreen.  An excellent plant for waterside positions or in the border.  The leaves are sword shaped and similar to Crocosmia.  Formerly called Schizostylis but has had a name change. Pot size 9cm.

Care and Maintenance.

Tidy the old leaves and spent flowers in spring.  It is easily propagated by division in May and June as the new season’s foliage begins to grow.
