Flowers: June-August. Plant in moist part shade. HxS 60x60cm
An outstanding recent hybrid, which rapidly sells out every time we stock it or take it to a Plant Fair. We have now bulked up enough that we are able to relist it. There is excellent contrast between the bright blood-red flowers, which open from even darker red buds, and the ferny dark green foliage which is red when it emerges in spring. This is the perfect plant for ‘lifting’ a shady area. Deadheading does not increase blooming so leave the old seedheads on for additional winter interest, particularly after frost. Slightly fragrant and cuts well for a vase.
Care & Maintenance.
Cut down old foliage early in the spring. Spring is also the best time to divide the plants.
