Polystichum polyblepharum, also known as the Japanese Shield Fern, has very stiff, erect, lance-shaped, bipinnate fronds which are yellow in spring, turning a glossy dark green during the season. Clump forming, evergreen and easy, with superb crosiers. A medium sized fern, tolerant of most positions in the garden, it is ultra hardy and has now become naturalised in several Cornish gardens. Hardiness rating H7. Pot size 9cm.
Care & Maintenance.
Remove any damaged or old fronds in spring. This fern can be propagated by careful division or spores.
