The Lesser reed-mace is often mistakenly called a bulrush. It is a strong growing plant which can become invasive and is therefore only suitable for the larger pond or lake. Best grown in full sun. The slender brown poker flowers appear in late summer and over winter before bursting to release their seed. They can be dried and used in flower arrangements. Native. Planting depth 25cm/10”
