Robust and clump forming with a mass of heart shaped foliage and slender spires of very dark red flowers all summer. Enjoys a moisture retentive soil and looks particularly effective near water. Herbaceous with an upright, non-flopping habit. Not as tall as some other hybrids, but with much larger flowers. Photo taken at Threave Gardens where it looked stunning in mid-October.
