$Miscanthus sinensis \'Morning Light\'$

(9-10 sun/light shade) ht 1.5m

Dense, erect clumps with slender leaves which are bordered in white but look silver from a distance. Red-bronze flowers ageing white appear from mid-summer and look superb through autumn. Introduced to the USA from Japan by the US National Arboretum in 1976.
