| (7-8 sun/light shade) 1.5mx1m This attractive hardy perennial from North China is grown for its towering spires of yellow, daisy-like flowers on dramatic dark purple-green stems which appear in July and August. The leaves are striking, large and deeply cut, with a slightly feathery appearance, turning purple from mid-August. This deciduous perennial will spread to cover a large area and provides excellent groundcover for sunny, permanently moist areas of the garden. Best protected from really hot midday sun and we grow it as a marginal to avoid slug damage! |
