Dryopteris cycadina
£4.50 £3.95
Common Name: Japanese Buckler Fern
Flowering Period: Non flowering
UK Native? No - Japan
Pot Size: 2 litre
The Royal Horticultural Societys Award of Garden Merit (AGM)

(part to full shade)   75x75cm

A lovely fern, easily identified by the black hairs on the back of the stipe and bold dark green fronds with serrated margins. The buckler fern is evergreen here, semi-evergreen in colder districts and particularly robust in cold gardens. Ultra hardy and long lived, enjoying a neutral to acid soil. Particularly good upright habit when mature.

This plant was added to our catalogue on Tuesday 24 February, 2004.
