Cyrtomium fortunei
£4.50
Common Name: Fortune's Holly Fern
Flowering Period: Non flowering
UK Native? No - Japan
Pot Size: 1.5 litre
The Royal Horticultural Societys Award of Garden Merit (AGM)

(part or full shade)   45x45cm

Evergreen with an upright habit and broad leathery fronds of a paler hue than Cyrtomium falcatum. It also has narrower pinnae and enjoys moist humus-rich soil. Old tatty fronds are best removed in spring to allow the new fronds to uncurl. We have found this to be absolutely hardy (to -12C) with no frost or snow damage to the fronds in bad weather. All of the holly ferns are admired and used by flower arrangers. Easy and exotic in appearance.

This plant was added to our catalogue on Monday 03 October, 2005.
