Cardiocrinum giganteum
£12.95
Common Name: Giant Yunnan Lily
Flowering Period: June-August
UK Native? No - China
Pot Size: 2 litre

(6-8 part shade/woodland)   2.5mx75cm

A sumptious species with heavily fragrant, greeny white trumpet flowers which have crimson throats. These are over 30cm in length and are carried on talls stems to 2m+. Leaves are olive-green and glossy. A stunning feature plant which is perfectly hardy and should be planted quite deeply. The bulb dies after flowering, leaving several offsets which flower within a year to two. These can be left or lifted and moved to new locations. Also sets seed which germinates readily to produce bulbils, often taking seven years to reach flowering size!  The bulbs we sell are all from cultivated stock, not gathered from the wild, and may not flower in their first year. Prefers a neutral to acid soil.

This plant was added to our catalogue on Sunday 12 February, 2006.

Customer Comments!

Just to say thank you very much. The plants arrived - all good and healthy - lovingly packed and all present and correct. May I congratulate you on your service and the quality of your plants. A number of mail order firms send out tired plants with half the root mass as yours have - or send out tiny little specimens that dont weather the transportation nearly as well as bigger plants. Well done! MH (Mar 2011)
